Learn More About Me:
Shawna Joyce, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania, with a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from Slippery Rock University. She has worked in the mental health field for over 15 years.
Shawna works with adults, utilizing a mix of therapeutic techniques including person-centered, solution-focused, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy and paradoxical intervention. She applies her Level 3 training in Gottman Method couple’s therapy and her certification as a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP) to work with couples and also to help those with relationship struggles, betrayal trauma and those dealing with addicted partners.
Shawna’s therapeutic approach is based on the belief that all people have insight and solutions within and that often, some compassionate, non-judgmental guidance can help with getting in touch with their authentic selves. She hopes to help others discover what they truly want, and how to bring the answers to the surface that will help them to make desired changes.
In her free time, Shawna enjoys spending time with her husband and adult children, decorating with flea market and thrift store finds, relaxing at home, reading in her home library, biking on country roads and kayaking. She also loves time with her cat and two dogs.
