Learn More About Me:
Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2012. In 2015, she joined the Family Recovery Program (FRP), an innovative community-based initiative designed to support families dealing with addiction, involvement with CYFS, and at-risk out-of-home placements. During her time with FRP, she received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Eco-systemic Family-Based Therapy, and earned certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.
By 2018, Katie was promoted to lead therapist for FRP and began pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health, graduating with honors in 2021. That same year, she joined the Transitions program, where she delved into Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Informed Care, EMDR, and group therapy. She worked with individuals, families, and couples addressing complex issues such as mental illness, trauma, grief, poverty, pregnancy and parenting, marginalization, addiction, homelessness, and unemployment. Katie advanced to the role of Program Director for the Transitions program, where she continued to expand her expertise and contribute in a supervisory capacity.

Katie adopts a collaborative "we" approach in therapy, viewing clients as the ultimate experts of their own lives. She customizes interventions to fit each individual’s unique needs, blending various techniques to disrupt old patterns and foster new ones. Outside of work, Katie cherishes time with her family, children, and pets. Her hobbies include reading, attending concerts, traveling, watching horror movies, and playing video and card games.
