Learn More About Me:

Ashley Nitija McWilliams, LPC is a Licensed Professional counselor in the state of Pennsylavania. Ashley has over 20 years of experience working in the mental health field assisting others in their healing journey. Ashley has a person-centered mind-body approach to treatment utilizing EMDR and the integration of Internal Family Systems (IFS) concepts. Ashley also specializes in working with attachment-based/developmental trauma. Her intention is to provide an open, supportive, and compassionate healing space to assist others their healing journey.

 

Ashley has certifications in EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Telehealth. Ashley has also received advanced training in the integration of EMDR and Internal Family Systems concepts. In addition, Ashley is a Registered Yoga Teacher and incorporates somatic based interventions into treatment. Ashley’s work is her passion in life and it reflects in the counseling experience of her clients.

 

Ashley has offered many trainings and community presentations on trauma informed care to professionals in the field, organizations, and medical professionals. Ashley has conducted classes, courses, and presentations on mindfulness, stress management, relaxation training, mindful eating, trauma, trauma informed yoga, and general wellness.

Ashley has been an avid daily practitioner of mind-body based practices for the past 25 years including mindfulness meditation and yoga. In her free time, Ashley enjoys biking, walking outdoors, kayaking, cooking, baking bread, spending time with loved ones, and is an avid reader. Ashley continues to grow in herself and her practice with daily dedication to the practices of yoga, meditation, and time in nature.

  • IN WHICH STATES DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR THERAPY SERVICES?
    We currently provide our services to residents in the state of Pennsylvania. We offer in-person counseling at our Edinboro, PA offices, and virtual counseling across all of Pennsylvania.
  • DO YOU OFFER IN-PERSON COUNSELING?
    Yes! We offer in-person counseling at our Edinboro, PA offices. We also offer high quality video therapy sessions across all of Pennsylvania.
  • DO YOU NEED TO BE LOCATED IN PENNSYLVANIA TO SEE ONE OF OUR THERAPISTS?
    Yes, you currently do need to be physically located in Pennsylvania during your therapy session. However, if you reside in a state close to the Pennsylvania border, you may be able to attend your therapy session from a parked vehicle or other static location in Pennsylvania as long as you are in physically in Pennsylvania at the time of your session.
  • WHAT IS THE LENGTH AND FREQUENCY OF THE THERAPY SESSIONS?
    Standard sessions are typically 50 to 60 minutes and can take place on a weekly, bi-weekly basis, or monthly basis depending on your particular needs/wants.
  • CAN ANYONE GET THERAPY ONLINE?
    Yes anyone can receive online counseling as long as you have a smartphone, tablet, or computer and access to the internet. Online therapy has been found to be just as effective as in-person treatment for adults, young adults, and teenagers.
