Amy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has 25 years in the mental health field.  She worked for 6 years as a mental health tech while serving in the Army and graduated from Slippery Rock with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health.  Amy has experience in a variety of settings such as BHRS (wraparound) , inpatient/outpatient clinical work, and addictions.  Amy is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and skilled in teaching skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.  She absolutely loves teaching skills and helping people process and grow.  Amy uses an eclectic approach from different therapies such as CBT and mindfulness in order to help clients find what works.  She tends to use an applied and realistic approach to learning about emotions and how they contribute to behaviors.   Amy does well with finding creative approaches to teach applicable skills in order to disrupt problematic patterns and enhance quality of life.  In her spare time, she enjoys anything and everything outdoors: kayaking, hiking, gardening, working on home/farm projects and spending time with friends and family.
